New Honours for Fairs and Eberhard
London Sports Hall of Famers Honoured
Jack Fairs and Fran (Wigston) Eberhard, Western athletes, coaches, and inductees of the London Sports Hall of Fame will add Lifetime Achievement honours to their resumes at the annual Western Mustangs Sports Hall of Fame dinner, October 19 at the London Convention Centre.
Fairs has been in our Hall since its inauguration in 2002, the first double inductee, recognized as the catcher on the storied London Majors baseball team of 1948 and individually for his outstanding athletic career at Western and the London playground system. Western’s news release for the upcoming event describes his career at the school – “professor emeritus of kinesiology, coach of Mustangs Men’s Squash for an incredible 57 consecutive seasons producing 38 championships.
