The piper marched them in to kickoff the official induction of the London Sports Hall of Fame class of 2017 with a crowd of more than 250 looking on.

The place — the Carousel Room, Western Fair District; the inductees – Jim Cressman, Dorinda “Dinnie” Greenway, Jeff Hackett, Jay McNeil, David Patchell-Evans, and the Memorial Cup champion London Knights of 2016.

Each inductee was suitably introduced via video, produced by Keyframe Communications; videos available elsewhere on this website. Plaques that will be displayed in the Budweiser Gardens were unveiled followed by statements from each of the inductees.

Praise for the evening’s program and the inductee selections was unanimous.

Support for the Hall of Fame came from sponsors and program advertisers — Davis-Martindale, Goodlife Fitness, Nothers, Western Fair District, Blakes-Lawyers, Winmar, M&T Printing, Labatt, Palace Theatre, Fanshawe Foundation, London Parks and Recreation, Grand Theatre, London Community Players, Fowler-Kennedy, Spriet & Associates, Ray Cullen Chevrolet, Optimist Club of Oakridge, Millar Sports Chiropractic, MacMaster Chev Cadillac, Original Kids, London INK, Cummins Optical. As Emcee Mike Stubbs put it “without their support, the Hall of Fame would be hard-pressed to continue.”

The Hall of Fame committee says thanks to all and now sets sight on 2018. Inductee nomination forms are available from “Nominate an Athlete” on the home page.
