  • Born in London, Ontario, January 7, 1953
  • Attended St. Michael’s Elementary School, Catholic Central High School, Kings University, Western University, University of Alberta
  • Most recently served as Western’s Director of Athletics and Recreation (2009-2016)
  • Was first female director of Athletics and Recreation at an Ontario university when she was named as McMaster’s Director, a position she held from 1990 to 2009
  • Previous to her appointment she was head coach of Macs’ women’s volleyball team (1984) and a lecturer in the school’s Physical Education and Athletics department.
  • Also coached Alberta’s women’s volleyball team
  • Is a former teacher and volleyball coach at Saunders Secondary School in London
  • Former president and chair of Canada Basketball
  • Named Hamilton’s Woman of the Year in Sport, Health and Fitness (1994)
  • Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal recipient (2012)
  • Named Western’s top female athlete (1975)
  • Named Woman of Excellence – London YMCA Excellence Awards (2013)
  • Named International Athletic Director of the Year (2002-03)
  • Recognized in 2017 by Ontario University Athletics for longstanding contributions to university sport
