  • Born in London, April 22, 1962
  • Attended Westmount Public School, Saunders Secondary School and the University of Western Ontario (now Western University)
  • During school days, excelled at many sports – basketball, volleyball, track and field
  • Best known as a hurdler but was also outstanding at volleyball, representing Canada in that sport in national and international competitions
  • The first Canadian athlete to receive Federal Elite Athlete Assistance in two sports (volleyball and track) at the same time
  • On the track, at Saunders, Glass won four OFSSA (all-Ontario) championships in the 110 and 400 metre hurdles, setting a Canadian school boy record in the 110
  • At Western, he was a five-time all-Canadian and a 3-time CIS champion and still holds records in several indoor hurdles events
  • Served as captain of the Canadian TYrack and Field team at the Commonwealth Games in 1986; in all, represented Canada on 22 occasions including the Pan-Am Games, the 1984 Olympics,and the World Indoor Games
  • Gained fame throughout the track world for his dive across the finish line to qualify for the 110 metre hurdles’ final at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles
