The 2015 Plaques are on Display at Budweiser Gardens
London Sports Hall of Fame trophy supplier, Jack Ross, is shown lending his considerable talents to the display of the 2015 Inductee plaques at Budweiser Gardens. The honour list this year includes: Sammy Foxworthy, pro hockey legend from the 1920s and ’30s; Jackie Sheppard, softball and slo-pitch organizer extraordinaire; Glynn Leyshon, London-Western wrestling club founder; pro football stars Ryan Thelwell, three time Grey Cup winner, and Jude St. John, Banting, Western, Argos (one Grey Cup winner); rowing super star Brian Peaker; and team selection, the 1975 London Majors, the last London team to win the Senior Intercounty title.
The Hall of Fame display is located in the Dundas Street concourse of the Gardens. Above is the corridor from Gate Four into the arena proper.
2016 will see selection of the 15th class of Hall of Fame inductees. Nominations for selection are open year round (see the home page for direction to an official nomination form). The Hall of Fame committee operates under the aegis of the London Sports Council. Consideration of past nominations and new ones received by March 1 will begin in January. Selections for 2015 will be announced in early May and, as is the norm, the official induction event will be held in early November.
